GPS COURSE

           

GPS course at Hidden Valley Nature Center, Jefferson, Friday Aug. 14, 8:30 to 12:30. This workshop introduces basic functions of a GPS unit, and is aimed primarily at people with little or no prior experience.  We’ll cover a bit of theory, get to know our way around the Garmin 72 GPS unit which will be provided, and learn the essentials of marking waypoints, navigating, and setting up/recording tracks.  Classroom and field work. Taught by Morten Moesswilde, Midcoast District Forester, Knox, Lincoln, Kennebec, Waldo Counties, Maine Forest Service.  Reservations required. Free for HVNC members, $5 for non-members.
